Women, Churches, Farming, and the American Revolution: Author Speaks on Revolutionary War Times and the Role of Women and Churches

Author-Speaker David Bowles

David Bowles, author of Spring House: Book 1 in the Westward Sagas, enjoys sharing what he learned from his research for the book. He is available to speak to schools, churches, and other organizations on topics relating to the Revolutionary War and preserving family history.

David grew up listening to his parents, aunts, and uncles telling stories about his ancestors. As a child, he loved to sit on the front porch of his aunt and uncle's ranch house at the end of the day, eating fresh peaches and hearing about the Mitchell Family history.

As an adult, David wanted to share the family history with his children and grandchildren. After years of research, he started writing a series of novels about his ancestors. Although the stories are consistent with known history, he is writing the books as fiction to include dialogue and to fill in the gaps in the historical records.

The genealogist and tale-spinner is available to speak to adults, youth, and children on the Revolutionary War and on family history.

Specific topics include:

  • The Role of Churches in the American Revolution
  • Women in the Revolutionary War
  • Farming During Revolutionary Times
  • Turning Point of the Revolution: The Battle of Guilford Courthouse
  • Researching and Preserving Your Family History
